MDE’s Fiscal Team will provide an overview of the School Meals Report – including how it is used to monitor the school meals fund balance, monitor indirect costs charged to the school meals funds, and the components used to calculate state supplemental payments such as 31d and 31f.  It’s important to understand how to access and complete this report, as well as how inaccurate reporting can lead to lower state supplemental payments.

The STEPS Challenge is a wellness program created just for school nutrition professionals to make engaged, present, and resilient employees in our programs. Join SNAM, leading Food Service Professionals, and the Michigan Department of Education School Nutrition Program’s Team Nutrition to encourage all of us to STEP UP to the Challenge. Our goal is to sign up 200 Michigan School Nutrition Professionals for SNA’s free online STEPS Challenge Wellness Program (https://schoolnutrition.org/Resources/STEPS/home) by October 2018 (the next SNAM Annual Conference).  By signing up you will join an amazing group of Michigan School Nutrition professionals, gain access to fitness tips and workout ideas, healthy recipes, a toolkit, and have a chance to win prizes.  We want you to find ways to help your staff embrace small habits that add up to big differences!
